Downhole Electric Heating Technology for Oil Wells

Downhole electric heating technology for oil wells primarily addresses a series of challenges encountered during crude oil production and transportation—such as severe wax deposition in the wellbore, excessive load on pumping rods, and difficulties in crude oil flow—all stemming from high crude oil viscosity, high wax content, and low temperatures. Depending on the type of oil well and the specific oil production processes involved, various different techniques can be employed to solve downhole heating issues.

Pipeline Continuous Steel Armored Skin-Effect Electric Heating Technology

Pipeline skin-effect heating is an application based on continuous steel-armored skin-effect electric heating technology. Depending on the construction process, it can be divided into two methods: external skin-effect electric heating and internal skin-effect core-penetrating electric heating.

Pipeline Electrolytic Blockage Removal Device

To address the technical challenges of thawing and clearing frozen blockages in oil collection pipelines, water-jacketed heating pipelines, and other oilfield production pipelines during winter, our company has developed a pipeline electrolytic de-blocking device. This device is simple and convenient to use—simply connect two de-blocking cables at the wellhead, eliminating the need to lay cables alongside the pipelines themselves, thus enabling the rapid clearance of long frozen pipelines. It boasts several advantages: it’s easy to operate, requiring only one ordinary worker to carry out the task; it provides swift de-blocking, typically taking no more than five hours; and its flexible, lightweight design allows for quick relocation and mobile operations at any construction site.

Adaptive Heating Device for Wellhead Pipelines

The adaptive pipeline electric heating device is a product developed and manufactured by our company, primarily designed for heating fluids—such as those in gathering and transmission pipelines, oil pipelines, and hot-water pipelines—that require a certain level of thermal energy. This device can rapidly increase the temperature of the fluid flowing through the pipeline. The heating components inside the device feature an integrated, adaptive heating module that boasts several advantages: it can be buried underground, is waterproof and moisture-resistant, features automatic power adjustment, has a simple and reliable structure, is energy-efficient, safe, long-lasting, compact in size, and easy to install.

Explosion-proof Insertion-Type Oil Tank Electromagnetic Heating Device

The explosion-proof insert-type electromagnetic heating device for oil tanks is a rod-shaped electric heater primarily used in storage tanks, reservoirs, liquid storage containers, and gas storage vessels in industries such as petroleum production, refining and petrochemical processing, chemical industry, and oil depots. It serves to heat, insulate, and reduce the viscosity of various oils, chemical liquids, and gases stored within these containers.

Explosion-proof Mobile Emergency Defrost Electromagnetic Heating Device

The explosion-proof mobile emergency defrosting electromagnetic heating device consists primarily of an electromagnetic heating host and heating plates. It is a product developed by our company, specifically designed for mobile emergency heating applications such as defrosting valves in winter and preheating pipeline welds. Its key advantages include simple installation and mobility; during operation, all you need to do is wrap the heating plates around the workpiece to be heated and connect them to a power source, enabling the workpiece itself to generate heat and thus achieving defrosting, heating, or temperature maintenance functions.

Steel pipe skin-effect heating cable

The steel pipe sheath skin-effect heating cable (hereinafter referred to as the skin-effect heating cable) consists of two main components: a conductive core and a steel pipe sheath. The conductor is threaded through a magnetic, circular steel pipe—also known as a heat pipe—and connected at the tail end of the pipe. The steel pipe and the conductor’s head end are respectively connected to the neutral and live wires of the power supply. When high- or medium-frequency alternating current is applied, the current flows through both the conductor and the steel pipe, forming a current loop. Under the influence of the skin effect and proximity effect, the current generates Joule heating due to the resistance on the inner surface of the heat pipe.

Skin-effect heating cable with a soft steel core

The steel-core skin-effect heating cable consists primarily of a soft steel core, copper conductors, and an insulating layer. The soft steel core primarily bears the tensile forces generated during installation, thereby enhancing the overall tensile strength of the cable. The copper conductors are responsible for transmitting electrical current. The insulating layer typically comprises a double-layer fluoroplastic material, which serves mainly to provide insulation, high-temperature resistance, and corrosion resistance. The primary application scenarios for steel-core skin-effect heating cables include heating hollow sucker rods in underground wells and providing core-through heating for long-distance pipelines.
